i'm not sure if you have heard..

but i am in love with israel.

seriously. it's so beautiful.

all the history. the architecture. the scenery.

i am in love with it all.

and since i experienced so many wonderful things

that i just have to share with all of you,

i decided to make my israel blog posts

a series of blog posts.

there are so many thoughts brought to mind

for me when looking at this picture.

number 1 it is in tel aviv, israel. the end. how cool.

2. it reminds me of my beautiful, sunny, beach filled home.

3. there are giant buildings in the background and that

most definitely makes me think of new york.

i took this picture while in caesarea maritima.

notice the big tanker in the background.

things i love about today.

1. nightly tea time at the artemis.

2. wearing my slippers and sliding around on the marble floors.

3. going to ikea today!!

4. being able to flush toilet paper back in the states.

5. talking to my mom on the phone.

6. finding boots for only 9 euros!

new sandals!

there is a famous store in the plaka here in athens

among the HUG (harding university greece) groups.

this store has been around for 3 generations now!

there are so many styles of sandals!

throughout the generations there have been many famous

people who have come and bought sandals.

and this wall is showing off all the famous names and styles named after them.

he also makes some jewelry, purses, and backpacks.

all by hand with quality leather.

everything is beautiful!!!

you get to pick which style of shoe you want and then

he fits it special to your foot!

as you leave the store there is a guest book and there are

pages and pages of notes that are

thankful. excited. and proud of their new handmade shoes.

its a little hard to see but this is my note to the poet.

and these are my new sandals!

i love them!!

strike.

some of you might have been hearing of some

unrest in greece for the past couple months.

well today the suburban,

which is like the metro but a little smaller scale,

is on strike.

so we cant travel today.

but other than this, there have been no

signs of any violence or rioting.

this is my roommate, Bethany and I at the metro station.

this is the line that it takes and

there is a stop called Victoria!

parthenon.

today we visited the parthenon.

absolutely incredible.

i can not believe how detailed the architecture is.

secretly, i still feel so deeply in love with that subject.

and i feel so blessed to be apart of this journey.

one long day.

i have finally arrived.

starting in tampa.

to newark.

final destination:

Athens!

the plane ride was 9 hours.

not too bad.

didnt sleep much though, i was too excited
